Discussion and practical applications of techniques and methodology related to engineering a designer's concept. Students will look at design specifications, concepts designs, detail designs, and design for manufacture based in the reality of time, budget and labor. Prerequisites: PROD 113, PROD 213. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Maintain a safe, healthy work environment for all individuals interacting with the scenic components of a show. (2) Evaluate and adjust designer drawings for maximum efficiency during a show build while maintaining the design aesthetic. (3) Track the show budget, allocation of manpower and day-to-day build schedule. (4) Create a schedule for the build, load-in and strike of a show. (5) Identify the variables involved in setting a production calendar and develop ways of addressing each variable.
