Specific attention to the technical requirements needed to perform classical male variations. Prerequisite: BAL 151. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Recognize the necessity of maintaining body alignment appropriate to male technique work while performing complex movement sequences. (2) Identify appropriate articulation of the feet, ankles, knees and hips while executing large turns and jumps. (3) Demonstrate an ability to perform male technique with a sense of dynamics, musicality and artistry. (4) Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the ballet terminology as it applies to classical male variations. (5) Identify areas needing change (the application of corrections) through observation and practice. (6) Increase his/her intellectual awareness of the field through assignments.
