A specialty of dentistry that studies the periodontium, the hard and soft tissues that support the teeth, along with the diseases and conditions affected. Classification of periodontal disease. Clinical aspects and preventive measures within the scope and responsibility of the dental hygienist. Acceptance into the Dental Hygiene program and instructor consent are required to take this course. In order to successfully pass this course, student must achieve a grade of "C" or better.
