Through lecture, discussion, fieldwork, and observation/participation, the student will 1) identify commonly seen psychosocial conditions using Occupational Therapy evaluation techniques, 2) identify methods of intervention in psychosocial settings, 3) practice observing, assessing, and reporting group behaviors, 4) practice planning and implementing therapeutic groups, and 5) identify roles of group leader and follower. Acceptance into the Occupational Therapy Assistant program is required to take this course.
