Description:
This course is designed to enable the student to run an EKG, and to interpret EKG rhythm strips. Topics to be discussed include an introduction to electrocardiography, EKG terminology, anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system, basic cardiovascular electrophysiology, basic EKG interpretation, and basic concepts of cardiac diagnostics. In order to successfully pass this course, student must achieve a grade of "C" or better, along with meeting the academic standards of the college. This course is for first or second year clinical allied health students.
