This course will discuss adult physical examination used for patient care planning in an acute care, emergency, or long-term care setting. Topics to be discussed are: data collection; techniques of examinations and assessment; instruments used; and assessment of the skin, head, eyes, ears, nose, neck, thorax and lungs, heart, peripheral circulation, abdominal and neurological system, and extremities. In order to successfully pass this course, student must achieve a grade of "C" or better, along with meeting the academic standards of the college. This course is for first or second year clinical allied health students.
