This course concentrates on discovering geometry in nature and art. Students will work with geometrical constructs such as lines, angles, triangles, and circles, and explore in depth polygons and three dimensional polyhedra. Students will evaluate geometry in art through artists that incorporate circle and knot designs, optical art, and symmetry such as that found in Islamic tile designs or in nature. For the final project students will produce an art piece with a strong geometrical foundation. This course is cross-listed with ARS 0140.
