Description:

Directed research and reading project outside the classroom of a complex and extensive nature in keeping with the student's major creative and/or scholarly interests. In addition to writing required for a particular independent study project, a written report on work accomplished is required at the end of the term. Research involves both primary and secondary sources. May be repeated with the consent of the instructor and advisor for total of no more than six hours of undergraduate credit. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing. GPA 2.0 overall, 2.5 in English courses. A minimum of 6 hours in English courses numbered 300 and above. Cosent of the instructor and advisor. A university contract must be signed will al required signatures.
