Directed Individual Study courses enable students with special interests, suitable preparation, and high academic standing to receive instruction and guid- ance in selected subjects which are not otherwise treated in the department's regularly scheduled courses of instruction. Directed Individual Study courses may not be repeated and are open only to juniors and seniors with the assent of the instructor and the permission of the department head.
