In this course students work on perfecting the essay format examining the persuasive and expository essay in detail, as they continue to work on applying their knowledge of grammar to their writing. Writing a mini research paper as well as understanding the preparation necessary for this such as engaging in pre-writing activities to decide on a topic, gathering information about the topic both in and out of the library and organizing that information, are also key components of this course. Technology and the internet are an integral part of this class. An exit-writing test is given to support college admission.
