Fundamental principles of genetics: variation, heredity, and interaction of genes, linkage, sex linkage, and mutation. Special emphasis given to breeding of farm crops and domestic animals. Laboratory includes demonstration of Mendelian ratios with field crops and Drosophila and an introduction to statistical methods as applied to agricultural research. Credit for PSSC 3309, AGRI 3309 and VETE 3409 will not be awarded. Lab fee $7. Prerequisite Course: BIOL 1406 or BIOL 1407
