Theory and instructional strategies for teaching the writing process in elementary and middle schools. Includes stages of the writing process, issues at the different grade levels, teaching with mini-lessons, early literacy, spelling, handwriting, developing listening skills, TAAS writing, and the use of children's literature to teach writing. Prerequisites: READ 3311 and 384, ENGL 3350, and concurrent enrollment in Read 4310 and EDUC 4330 or approval of department head.
