Description:
This course is designed to familiarize the student with contemporary principles and practices of organizing and conducting youth and interscholastic sports programs. The foloowing major areas are included: 1) The principles and practices relating to the coaching of adolescents including adolescent sports psychology and sports management. 2) Medical aspects and first aid as it applies to coaching. 3) Legal and safety aspects of coaching adolescents. Examination for certification by the American Sport Education Program(ASEP) will be administered to all students upon completion of the course.
