This course will examine sport's societal influence, especially focusing on media issues. It will approach sport from socio-cultural/psychological perspectives as well as from a contemporary position. It will focus on the converging worlds of electronic media, public relations, advertising, sponsorship, and emerging technologies as expressed in the new commercial reality of sport.
