An introductory course in drug discovery and drug design. Topics include: the drug discovery process, organic chemistry of drug synthesis (lead compounds and analogues), therapeutic areas elementary pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, recptor sites and drug targets, optimization of physio-chemical properties, and mechanisms of drug action in biochemical pathways.
