A grade of C or above is required in this course.Prerequisites HIT 220This course includes advanced concepts, principles, and conventions of the ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems. Students will assign diagnostic and procedural codes, diagnostic groupings, including DRGs, and evaluate case mix analysis in accordance with current regulations and established guidelines. Special emphasis is placed upon coding compliance strategies, auditing, reporting, and coding quality monitors. The AHIMA Virtual Lab is used in this course.
