In 2010, the American Counseling Association defined counseling as "a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals." This course will examine the nature of that relationship and the unique skills counselors bring to the relationship. Further, we will explore the myriad settings and contexts in which counselors work as they seek to "empower" others' development. No prerequisites.
