This is the third semester of a four-semester music history sequence required of all music majors with an academic emphasis, and all music majors with an emphasis in instrumental performance. For music majors with an emphasis in vocal performance, it is one option by way of a third required semester of music history-the other being History of Western Classical Music IV. This course involves a close look at a large volume of repertoire, score analysis, extensive listening, and writing. This semester will cover the Romantic period, roughly 1800-1900. Prerequisite: MUSC 271.
