Provides the basic background in probability theory for further work in statistics and operations research. Basic topics: sample spaces and axioms of probability; conditional probability and independence; Bayes theorem; random variables; moments and moment generating functions; transformations of random variables; common families of distributions; multivariate distributions, covariance and correlation; probability inequalities and limit theorems. RESTRICTIONS: Students are expected to have had Analytic Geometry & Calculus C.
