This course will examine the impact of an increasingly diverse population on the healthcare system. Students will develop an understanding for diversity as a concept that includes many different types of racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic categories. Case studies and discussions will provide students with opportunities to understand and acquire "cultural competence" for implementation in healthcare settings, and the impact it can have on quality of care and organization management.
