Students will define and apply the principles of the Social Change Model of Leadership to mobilize participants of social media to take action and bring about social change. They will describe how to engage online followers in order to have them better understand and appreciate the diversity of values and viewpoints of the larger community. They will identify the role social media plays in galvanizing support for taking action in support of social and political change. Prerequisites COM 231, 232, 325. 3 credits
