Description:
The International Business capstone course combines an international travel experience with a research component expressing students' understanding of the broader business issues presented around the world. The aim of the class is for students to experience either a short-term, semester, or international internship or service learning experience while conducting research on the most pertinent issues that exist within the country in question. For example, students visiting the European Union could look at the changing nature of business as more countries enter the Union; students visiting Costa Rica could look at the issue of Fair Trade and the role that Fair Trade plays in economic development of poor countries; Finally, students visiting Northern Ireland could look at the role that politics plays in investment.
