Description:
This course introduces students to the organization, retrieval and evaluation of electronic and print information. Students will be provided with an overview of academic library systems, traditional scholarly resources, and the concepts underlying the research process. Students will gain an understanding of the evolving nature of information resources. Critical thinking skills will be employed as students formulate research quires and evaluate information resources. Students will be able to apply concepts learned in this course to conduct research assigned in other courses. This course will be especially helpful to students who are undeclared, as we will examine resources across the disciplines. This course is limited to freshmen and sophomores. 1 credit.
