This introductory course for majors includes the scientific method, biochemistry of life processes, cell structure ad function, metabolism, taxonomy, and evolution. Limited to science, allied health,exercise science and health promotion majors, or by permission of the department chair. Satisfies part of the Scientific Literacy requirement. Prerequisite:Placement in MAT 117 or higher or completion of MAT 111. Three hours lecture, three hours lab. Lab Fee. Students may not receive credit for both BIO 101 and BIO 177. Offered fall. 4 credits
