PHY 173 - Astronomy This course is designed for non-science majors and covers basic concepts of modern astronomy. Completion of this course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of topics such as the origin, structure and evolution of the universe, stellar evolution, super novae, black holes, galactic evolution, constellations, the solar system, eclipses, as well as other types of celestial bodies and phenomena. Limited to non-science majors. Satis?es part of the Scienti?c Literacy requirement. Prerequisite: Completion of quantitative literacy requirement. Three hours integrated lecture/lab. Lab fee. Offered occasionally. 3 credits
