This course is designed for non-science majors and covers basic physics concepts through the lens of everyday experiences. Using hands-on techniques, students will learn about the concepts of Newton's Laws of Motion, energy, simple machines, electricity, magnetism, light and sound. Topics may include the physics of amusement parks, sports, rock concerts and race cars. Satisfies part of the Scientific Literacy requirement. Prerequisite: Completion of quantitative literacy requirement. Three hours integrated lecture/lab. Lab fee. Offered occasionally. 3 credits
