Prerequisite(s): (THEA 1033 and THEA 1713) or DGM 2110 and University Advanced Standing. Introduces basic directing techniques utilized in rehearsing and presenting acting scenes for stage and screen performance. Places emphasis on text analysis and effective communication with actors to achieve honest and believable performances in the intimate style of camera acting, as well as the highly physical acting style of the stage. Includes studies in script structure, visualization, movement, pace and rhythm, gesture and rehearsal techniques.
