Description:
This course will provide students with models of teaching that foster an understanding of the interrelationship of instruction, curriculum, and assessment across content areas, with specific attention to the discipline area of science. Teaching methods and curriculum development will support the pre-service teacher's knowledge of inquiry-based learning focused on discovery, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in the early primary, elementary, and middle level classrooms. Admission to the Teacher Education Program is required. Early field experience is required (20 hours).Credit, three hours.
