Description:
Provides an opportunity to conduct independent research under the direction of a faculty member. The research will allow for the development of strong problem-solving skills and laboratory techniques. Students will design experiments, use advanced instrumentation and interpret their results in consultation with their faculty mentor. At close of the semesters, students will present their results of their research as a poster, paper or presentation. This course does not satisfy the upper level chemistry elective required for chemistry majors. Pre-req:CHEM-102, with a grade of C or better; approval of the supervising faculty memeber; cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
