This course will provide students with a range of skills and general techniques that will prepare them for participating in their Capstone research. This course will include a focus on safety in the laboratory and the common operational skills such as making solutions, dilutions, as well as the proper use and calibration of balances, pH meters, and pipettes. An emphasis will be placed on proper laboratory record keeping procedures in the context of good laboratory practices. The course will serve as an elective for sophomore and higher students who state they want to strengthen their laboratory skills.
