Survey of general, organic, and biochemistry with emphasis on applications to the human body. Measurement, atomic theory and structure, bonding, quantitative relationships in chemical reactions, gases, solutions, electrolytes, organic functional groups and nomenclature, organic reactions, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, metabolism, and nucleic acids. CHEM 1451 cannot count for major credit toward a degree in chemistry. Prerequisite: MATH 1301 or MATH 1302 or equivalent.
