This course will cover Financial Planning and Tax Concepts related to benefits. It will also cover Financial Analysis Concepts needed to support Cost/Benefit studies used in Benefit Package Selection, Outsourcing Options, and Other Human Resource Management Decisions. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to explain benefit options to employees, and will be able to apply finance and tax concepts to support decision making. Prerequisite: BMGT 315. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: (1) Know how to use cost benefit analyses and discounted cash flow techniques to support decision making related to Human Resource Management. (2) Know how to use statistical techniques to track and evaluate various Human Resource Management activities. (3) Know how IRS tax rules impact various employee benefit options. They will learn how to use these tax rules to explain how they impact employees as well as employers.
