This course explores various qualitative and quantitative research methods, experimental controls, data analysis, and scientific communication used in a business environment. Upon completion of the course, students will know how to formulate research questions, select the appropriate research methodology, collect and analyze data, and communicate findings and recommendations. The SHRM competency, Critical Evaluation, will be included in the course content. Students in the HR program are required to upload at least one example of their work as identified by the faculty member to their e-portfolio.Pre-requisite: MATH 175. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: (1) Investigate and dissect the various methodologies used in research methods. (2) Compile and analyze data. (3) Analyze an organizational symptom and properly identify a research need. (4) Analyze and synthesize current literature in order to compose a literature review. (5) Develop, implement and analyze a research project for an organization. (6) Draw conclusions and communicate both in writing and verbally the research process and findings.
