Fulfills a course requirement in the Visual Arts Studies: SculptureCore ConcentrationThis course is an introduction to sculptural materials and processes.Using simple hand tools to manipulate a wide variety of materialsincluding plaster, wax, and clay; essential sculptural elements will beapplied through an exploration of basic sculptural methods such assubtraction, addition, manipulation, and substitution, while placingemphasis on the individual's creative development. More complexmethods such as construction, assemblage, and relationships betweenmaterials, as well as more sophisticated processes like casting willalso be studied via related/interrelated exercises. Experimentation andexploration are paramount.
