It covers a wide range oftopics and aims to provide a solid background to the array of analyticalperspectives anthropologists have drawn upon in their scholarlyengagement with the region. Course includes a broad historicaloverview of the cultural and historical diversity of the region, aswell as contemporary case studies of cultural transformations withinspecific countries.
