Fulfills a requirement in the Psychology core concentration.Prerequisites: PSYCH 100This course is designed to offer students opportunities to understandcommon causes of conflicts, and build techniques and skills inconflict management. The course teaches students the theoreticalunderpinnings causing disputes among parties. It emphasizesbuilding partnerships and long-term positive relationships in one'scareer and personal life. Students will investigate the theory andpractice of using power, assessing conflict, improving communicationtechniques in problem solving with regards to appropriate strategies,tactics and goals in conflict resolution. This course will also focus onmediation skills, and students will have an opportunity to practiceconflict management strategies to solve actual conflicts.
