(Prereq: Completion of all but 2 ICE requirements; completion of all nursing courses except NURS A418, NURS A419, and NURS A425; Coreq: NURS A418, NURS A419, and NURS A425) Students explore leadership and management principles using a systems framework to understand the professional nurse's role as a member of a multidisciplinary team within complex healthcare organizations. Essential skills for effective decision-making, priority setting, delegation, conflict management, and quality improvement are reinforced. Students will investigate an issue influencing healthcare delivery and identify feasible solutions nurse leaders could implement to address the issue.
