An intuitive approach to the concepts and applications of differential calculus through the study of rates of change and their interpretations, using data-driven, technology-based modeling. Topics include linear, quadratic, cubic, exponential, and logistic models for discrete data; rates of change; calculating derivatives; interpreting derivatives as rates of change; relating first and second derivatives to graphs; and optimization. (Not intended for those who plan to take more than one calculus course).
