An overview of patho-physiological concepts of injury, healing and immunity followed by a critical look at pharmacology and its relationship to sports and exercise. Emphasis is placed on integrating pharmacologic concepts into clinical practice. An examination of commonly used drugs and supplements that affect exercise performance and practical guidelines for the athletic trainer. Drug testing and prescription guidelines are also studied.
