This course includes both chemistry and physics relating to petroleum and natural gas technology sector sciences, including Gas Properties, Boyle's Equation, Charles' Equation, Avogadro's Law; Dalton's Law of Partial Pressures. Amagot's Laws, Behaviors and Ideal and Real Laws - Compositions, Terminology using Gauge P vs. Absolute P; understanding of vapor pressures, partial pressures, STD conditions, Density, Gravity; Temperature types; Mass vs. Weight, Molecular weight, Moles (pound mole and gram mole), Mole fraction; Energy, Properties of naturally occurring hydrocarbons; Phases of Gas-Liquid- Solid from PVT diagrams; Quantify phase behavior; PHYSICS: measurement, motion, kinetic energy and work, potential energy and conservation of energy, momentum, torque, fluids, waves, heat, Kinetic Theory of Gases, entropy, electric charge, electric fields, Gauss' Law. Includes LAB. (4 credits).
