This course will introduce the learner to the varied definitions and classifications constituting the categories of exceptional children. Each subgroup of exceptionality will be reviewed in terms of its etiology, diagnosis and remediation. As a result of this course, learners will be sensitized to the educational programmming of exceptional children as well as exceptional childrens' rights in Pennsylvania and the U.S. Health-related issues and concerns will be identified and discussed. Open to all students.
