This course deals with basic concepts of pharmacology. The pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of various classes of therapeutic agents are discussed. Toxicologic aspects and drug/ food interactions receive due consideration. The rational of a particular drug's usage in various disease states is explored. A primary focus is the integration of pharmacologic concepts into the nursing process. Open to upper level Nursing majors and RNs.
