This is the firstnursing theory course which explores the development of professional nursing and introduces students toselected concepts and theories. The values, principles and standards of professional practice areintroduced as a framework for professional development and students are introduced to the nursingprocess and evidence-based practice. Major contemporary nursing issues are explored within historic,economic, philosophical and political contexts. In addition to the classroom experience students will beintroduced to experiential learning through simulation.
