A survey of the great writers and literarymovements of Spain together with an introduction to the analysis of literary texts. Students will read andanalyze Spanish poetry, short stories and novel excerpts from the ninth to the eighteenth century, writtenby authors from Spain. Along with reading primary sources, students will be exposed to the history andpolitics of Spain. The course fulfills a requirement for the Spanish Major and the Spanish Minor.
