(3 credits)(Prereq: COMM 150 or JOUR 201) A study of the communicative power of advertisements; introduces concepts and techniques used by advertisers to create, target, and place advertisements through various media. Through critical inquiry and rhetorical analysis, students will be able to look beyond the surface of an advertisement and recognize what it is saying to the consumer and about our culture.
