Prerequisite: ANT 101 or ANT 205 or SOC 100. An exploration of cultural diversities and continuities of the Caribbean region through ethnographic case studies. Topics include a historical overview, the role of slavery in the construction of these societies, and current issues: political economy, labor migration, tourism, religion and resistance, kinship and the division of labor. 3 credits.
