Research and Evaluation in Schools and Mental Health Agencies This course covers an introduction to research methods that practitioners need to become critical evaluators of research, and evaluations within their own practice. The focus of this course is on understanding each component of the research process. Essential elements of the research and program evaluation process are covered, including IRB approval and ethical considerations, study designs with appropriately-operationalized variables, utilizing reliable and valid measures, understanding measurement concepts, basic statistics, an introduction to SPSS and writing about research (proposals and publications). 3 credits.
