This course will acquant students with concepts of chemical dependence, co-occurring disorders, and their impact on families and the community. Developmental models, theories, etiology of addictions/addictive behaviors and theory of dual diagnosis will be explored. Students will examine different strategies and techniques on how to identify and assess persons with dual diagnosis.
