An examination of "The Five Great Lessons" that serve as the framework for the lower elemntary classroom. These lessons are: The Story of the Universe, The Story of Life, The Story of Humans, The Story of Language, and The Story of Signs and Symbols. Each lesson, or story, acts as a catalyst for further research and study throughout the subject areas. These Great Lessons serve to connect different subject areas to each other, so students come to understand the unifying nature of knowledge.
