This course is designed to teach students how to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the US Tax Court in a wide variety of cases, including but not limited to identity theft, letter examinations, field examinations, OIC, CNC, appeals, collections, liens, levies, and other tax controversies. On occasion, students will represent taxpayers before the Utah Tax Commission. For each type of representation, students will receive training specifically designed to address client disputes. Prerequisite: ACCT 441 (VITA) or ACCT 474 or instructor's approval.
